Biography:
Farida Moreau Robinson has practiced family law for over 20 years, and is also an active legal and community volunteer.
In the Maryland State Bar Association, Ms. Robinson has served as the Young Lawyer’s Section Representative to the Board of Governors, and as Chair and Co-Chair of the Publications Committee of the Young Lawyers Section. She was a long-time contributor and Associate Editor, of “The Advocate,” Newsletter of the Young Lawyer’s Section and a Contributor to the 1995 Edition of the MICPEL, Maryland Practice Forms.
In her community, Ms. Robinson is an active volunteer at The Potomac School in McLean, Virginia, serving as the on-going Volunteer Coordinator for Fall Frolics, a 12th grade Parent Representative and formerly, as a Head Parent Representative in the Middle School. Ms. Robinson is a prior President and Secretary of the Executive Board of the Garrett Park Nursery School in Garrett Park, Maryland, and tutor with The Kingsbury Center in Washington, D.C.
Ms. Robinson is also active in Scouting. In addition to serving as a Girl Scout Troop Leader for 13 years, she served as a Service Unit Co-Manager and Money Manager for many years and is presently an Association Co-Chair with the Girl Scout Council of the Nation’s Capital. She received the Jan Verhage Spirit of Leadership Award in 2011. In addition, Ms. Robinson is a Member of the Executive Committee of Troop 52 in the Boys Scouts of America National Capital Area Council.
Ms. Robinson earned a BA from The Catholic University of America, an MSJ from the Northwestern University Medill School of Journalism and is a graduate of The Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law.
